Oh, Jackson the Beautiful!

Also taken from the commedia dell’arte, Oh, Jackson the Beautiful! is a fun, simple production that can be performed pretty much anywhere. The beauty of this play is that even though the title has Jackson in it, that word can be replaced by any location, which gives the play its universality. This show has been produced twice, both in the Jackson area. The first production was an opener for the Mississippi Community Symphonic Band (MCSB), while the second was produced along with Rugs, I Say! at Belhaven College’s Homecoming Weekend in 2006. The first production with the MCSB was directed by Chad Miller, and the Belhaven Homecoming production was directed by Jonathan Lowery. I acted in the role of Pantalone in the production with the MCSB.
