It should be known to one and all that I will likely be accepting the role as Area Director of Texas for the Enclave. What’s an Enclave you ask? This particular Enclave is a theatre organization designed to consult and instill theatre academies in companies within individual entities, such as churches, community centers, schools, etc. Hopefully, along with gaining invaluable experience and developing family friendly artistic environments, taking on this task will open doors for yours truly and help him meet some neat people.
But to change the subject drastically, I must say that the state of Texas hasn’t necessarily been kind to me over the years when it comes to driving on the road. One year, I went out there for a theatre conference in Dallas, and I got pulled over. Sure, I was a little bit over the speed limit, but nothing anyone else wouldn’t do, right? He asked where I was going and I told him to Christ for the Nations, where my brother was attending school at the time. Coincidentally, the officer knew someone that I knew through my brother, and, next thing you know, he left me off the hook. Needless to say, I slowed down the rest of the time I was in Dallas, but once I left…
The second time Texas gave me grief was on my way back from Dallas. This time I was driving a suburban carrying The Joshua Squad who just gotten back to the States from Italy. On the interstate, we were trucking along, when “BAM!”, my exhaust pipe spit out some flames and my car slowly begin to drift into an unconscious state, and we pulled over. To make a long blog short, we had to wait for around two hours for a tow service to come, people were crying, angry, every emotion you can imagine. But the good news was we had a long shot connection that worked out; some of the Squad members knew from college lived in Longview, which was a few minutes away from where we were. They came and picked us up, gave us great treatment, and I was able to pick my truck up in the morning (to this day, I still don’t remember what was wrong with it.) We drove home safely, and everyone lived ever after. There’s alot of details that I excluded from this story, and if you want to know those, contact me or buy the rights. Take care. Peace.
Yeah, I can totally sympathize with some of those roadtrip experiences…I’d say I get pulled over for one thing or another probably every second roadtrip I take.
Got any idea where Enclave Central for Texas is going to be yet?

This is great! The creative juices must keep going. Don’t stop.
You have a great way of “seeing” and capturing it in writing.
