Florida, the Sunshine State

That’s what the sign said to the right of the interstate. Apparently, I was welcome to enter this land. All the while, my windshield wiper was wiping off rain. We’ve been blessed with rain in the southeast U.S. for the past couple of days.

I enjoy Florida every time I come down. This time I’m going to spend time with my many of my cousins, who hail from Georgia, Idaho, Tennessee, etc. I will be down here until Monday. If there are any zany stories that crop up (which I’m sure there will be), I’ll post it when I get back to Jackson on Tuesday. Let me put it to you like this, the house I’m staying at is only a five minute walk from the ocean. But I’m really glad that I’m getting to see my family members before I make my trek out west.

The guy in this picture is Larry. He was a bartender at the restaurant I ate at tonight (the restaurant won’t let me post the name for legal reasons). Some guy didn’t pay his liquor tab. The results weren’t very pretty.

I’m leaving for L.A. in thirteen days…and counting…
