Not to long ago, I was watching the Super Bowl. The one the pitted the unbeatable New England Patriots against the New York Giants, featuring the “other” Manning, Eli. However, as Fate would have it, the “other” Manning and the Giants were victorious over the Pats, shocking many, and putting lots of bet money in the pockets of others. Funny thing, that Fate. She also arranged it to where I was in a commercial with Eli Manning and his father, Archie Manning, also a renowned quarterback in his day, for BankPlus this past Saturday.
My favorite part of this commercial had to be the cheering section, where all the people were dressed in green, sitting on bleachers, and cheering on the Mannings as they explained how BankPlus is by far the most favorable bank to customers. Usually my favorite part is where I speak my lines, but in this shoot, I was simply an extra; no more, no less. Both of the Mannings were friendly and very cordial people. I go ahead and state this, because there is only one common question everyone’s asked me since the commercial, and that is…
Did you get to talk to Archie and Eli?!
It’s understandable. People love celebrities, and in Mississippi, the Mannings are about as close to that status as one gets. In fact, I believe being famous gets you into a certain guild in this world, where you get stuff for free and can bend a couple of the laws it seems, especially traffic laws. They probably even give you a card to carry with you. This is why I have developed a desire, as of late, to become famous. I hear the benefit package is great. However, let me also state, that along with being famous, I would also like the wealth that comes along with it. In fact, keep the fame, I’ll just take the wealth.
Speaking of wealth, since my last blog, I’ve joined a new and exciting club where I get to buy online and get a rebate for it. It’s called My Power Mall, and it’s absolutely free to join! If you would like to check it out, contact me. Here’s the link:
On a final note, we will have our final day of shooting for Handry Kova this weekend. Wheww! I will give updates of the post production process as they come. Stay tuned.
Sweet, man. I got to talk to the Mannings once during a golf tournament while I was working for the magazine.
So did you get to talk to Archie and Eli?
