Collaboration, Moose, and Peace

So I’m beginning a possible collaboration with my friend Dan Johnston today. He’s the son of Karen K. Johnston, a lady who I have collaborated with on two musical theatre shows, both having been produced. They are both talented people and I feel privileged to work with both of them. Looking forward to the possibilities.

This opens up the floodgate of memories of when I went to Washington, with Karen and Daniel, to have our first musical produced. Lot’s of good times. I even saw my first and only moose in the wild when I was up there. I was power walking on the street when all of a sudden this moose was two hundred yards away. It looked like a horse, but then I saw the antlers. Needless to say, I started walking in the other direction. I heard moose are aggressive, especially the females. Me, not so much. I’ll take the route of peace.

Speaking of peace, there’s a road in Canton, MS called Peace St., but the other night I saw on the news that there was a shooting over there. Go figure. Apparently two neighbors were squabbling, like the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, over the street they lived on. They each had a lane that they claimed was their property, but things get hairy because there’s a turn lane in the middle; that’s what the dispute was about. Frankly, I think maps at Town Hall would show that the street belongs to the City of Canton, proving both parties wrong. But like I said, I’m a man of peace, not someone who lives on Peace St.
