Minor Lifestyle Changes Bring Major Fitness Improvement

What if I were to tell you that there are some minor changes you could make to your lifestyle that would get you in better shape?

One of the more common explanations people give for not exercising is they simply don’t have the time. This can be a valid point. After all, working a full-time job can exhaust you mentally and physically, making it feel like a tall order to start a workout routine. However, there are some changes you can make to your daily activities that can make a major difference in your health:

If you have a choice between using an elevator or stairs, take the stairs! It doesn’t take that much longer and it’s better for you.

Some beverages are packed with carbohydrates and calories, not a good thing for whatever diet you may be on. Rather, drink 6-8 cups of water a day to keep you from becoming dehydrated.

Whenever you want to go somewhere that’s within walking distance, put on your sneakers! Not only will enjoy the beautiful day around you, but walking somewhere can you give more time to think about stuff you needed to think about.

Before going to bed each night, take five minutes to stretch your muscles. Not only will this provide you with better flexibility, but it will increase blood circulation throughout your body as well as relieve muscle tension cause by stress.

One great thing about making minor changes to improve your health is that can often give you more confidence to begin making bigger changes, thus directing you on your way to a better lifestyle.

Six Meals a Day is the Best Eating Way!

Recent studies have shown that it is just as healthy, if not more so, to eat six meals a day rather than three. As far back as anyone can remember, the rule of thumb for healthy eating was to eat three meals a day. Anything beyond that and you were eating too much. However, the problem with only eating three meals a day is that the times that you eat the meals is usually too spread out. Alarmingly low levels of blood sugar can be the result of this eating method.

Eating six meals a day, on the other hand, can give you more frequent checkpoints throughout the day to energize yourself with the nutrients your body needs. It can be compared to a marathon runner being given cups of water during his race.

The list goes on. Although we may think this is the natural way to feel, it can also cause us to begin thinking irrationally. Before resolving this challenge, make sure to calmly collect your thoughts and keep the negative ones at bay.
